LISA C. CRONIN

SPECIAL COUNSEL

Ms. Cronin primarily represents and advises oil and gas companies in federal and state litigation.  She has handled claims concerning lease rights, unleased mineral owner rights, mineral servitudes royalty and overriding royalty disputes, production in paying quantities, well control (blowout), demands for further development, subsurface trespass, unitization/pooling, the Risk Fee Act, the Louisiana Oil Well Lien Act, title disputes, water rights, environmental contamination, and local regulations of oil and gas development.  Lisa’s practice includes the analysis of mineral leases, pipeline right-of-way/servitude agreements, water use agreements, and related contracts. 

Ms. Cronin’s practice also includes the representation of clients in legal malpractice, eminent domain claims involving natural gas pipeline and other utility companies, and general commercial litigation, often involving issues of contractual interpretation, mismanagement of corporate or company resources, bad faith, and indemnity disputes. 

Ms. Cronin received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana.  She received her law degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she was a published member of the Louisiana Law Review.  She served as law clerk to the Honorable Justice Fred A. Blanche, Jr., Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court.  Ms. Cronin was admitted to practice in the State of Louisiana in 1984. In 1988, Ms. Cronin moved to New Mexico and was in private practice in Clovis, New Mexico handling commercial and class action litigation. She was admitted to the New Mexico Bar Association in 1988 and to the Texas Bar Association in 1992. Ms. Cronin rejoined the firm in 2000. She currently volunteers as the Chief Executive Officer of Common Ground Community, Inc.  She is an adjunct lecturer at Centenary College of Shreveport, Louisiana. She serves on the Board of Directors of Community Foundation of North Louisiana and is currently serving as Treasurer.
