Cook Yancey sports a victory over Heard McElroy & Vestal
Cook Yancey won a recent softball challenge by a local CPA firm. This game brought back an annual tradition of past years, where each of these two firms would field a team and experience a friendly competition. Many came out to watch, bringing family to enjoy the game and refreshments. A good time was had by all. Heard McElroy owes a trophy to the victors, and we are awaiting that eagerly!
Soldiers in Iraq
The COOK YANCEY team DONATED 700 POUNDS OF CANDY AND ICE POPS for the soldiers stationed at CAMP AL ASAD, IRAQ!!! These pictures show how much the troops are going to enjoy the results of "Operation Cool Down" for many months, and how much fun the contract workers are having distributing the goodies as the soldiers come in to swim at the pools or use the recreation center. Frank Stinson, MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) Technician at Al Asad and husband of Cook Yancey librarian, Sharon, is the guy wearing a cap, red whistle and a big smile. Frank says about 1300 soldiers come in and out of the Rec Center daily, and also frequent the swimming pools during off-duty time in an effort to beat the average 130 degree heat!! Cook Yancey people are good at giving back.
