To show team spirit for the New Orleans Saints, on their way to their first ever Super Bowl appearance, Cook Yancey employees donned the team colors.

June 19, 2009 CY Night at the Ballpark
Cook Yancey enjoyed a Night at the Ballpark on June 19th. A Shreveport Captains game was the location of the recent firmwide event. This outing was provided for the employees and their family by the firm. Herschel E. Richard, President, threw out the first pitch to start the game. The Captains were victorious over the Grand Prairie Airhogs. The newly renovated Fairgrounds field made the outing pleasant for all.

January 27, 2009 Spinathon held to raise fund for Leukemia
Cook Yancey organized pedal power to spin for a cause, with 28 riders in the lobby of Regions Bank. The event raised more than $1200.00 in donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This effort was made in support of Cook Yancey attorney Price Barker's personal quest to ride in the LLS 's Ouachita Challenge and raise money to fight leukemia. He is a two time leukemia survivor and has committed to this 60 mile mountain bike race on the Ouachita trail in April. The YMCA, Region's Bank and Tower Cafe teamed with Cook Yancey to host this fun and inspiring event, covered by KTBS. Best of luck to Price in the race...ride well!
December 16, 2008 - Cook Yancey teams up with LSU-Shreveport to bring gifts to children for the holidays

This holiday season kicked off Cook, Yancey, King & Galloway's second annual "Secret Santa" project. In partnership with the College of Education and Human Development of Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Cook Yancey identified a local school, Midway Elementary Professional Development School, with many children in need this holiday season. Attorneys and staff at Cook Yancey along with faculty, staff, and students of LSUS, provided gifts and holiday cheer for 68 Midway students. This team effort for the "Secret Santa" project is rewarding and enjoyable for those who participate as Santa's helpers. It is amazing to see all the bikes and wrapped gifts fill a conference room. The hope is to expand this next year to include other area schools and law firms.
Cook Yancey sports a victory over Heard McElroy & Vestal
Cook Yancey won a recent softball challenge by a local CPA firm. This game brought back an annual tradition of past years, where each of these two firms would field a team and experience a friendly competition. Many came out to watch, bringing family to enjoy the game and refreshments. A good time was had by all. Heard McElroy owes a trophy to the victors, and we are awaiting that eagerly!Softball

Team CY had a good turnout of runners and walkers to participate in the July 4 Firecracker 5K, and the Komen run as well

Soldiers in Iraq

The COOK YANCEY team DONATED 700 POUNDS OF CANDY AND ICE POPS for the soldiers stationed at CAMP AL ASAD, IRAQ!!! These pictures show how much the troops are going to enjoy the results of "Operation Cool Down" for many months, and how much fun the contract workers are having distributing the goodies as the soldiers come in to swim at the pools or use the recreation center. Frank Stinson, MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) Technician at Al Asad and husband of Cook Yancey librarian, Sharon, is the guy wearing a cap, red whistle and a big smile. Frank says about 1300 soldiers come in and out of the Rec Center daily, and also frequent the swimming pools during off-duty time in an effort to beat the average 130 degree heat!! Cook Yancey people are good at giving back.
