Day of Caring 2009

Cook Yancey team volunteers for Day of Caring

As part of the United Way's 2009 Day of Caring, Cook Yancey employees volunteered their time to the Reach out and Read program at Louisiana State Health Science Center Shreveport children's clinic. Reading to patients and labeling books for this program was a rewarding way to give back to the community where we live and work. Day of Caring is a one-day, community-wide volunteer event that allows United Way donors an opportunity to see first-hand where their contributions are going and whom their dollars are helping. The program connects volunteer groups from local business and industry with non-profit agencies in need of assistance. The program is an organized way for individuals to make a difference in their community. Nearly 1,000 volunteers from local organizations rolled up their sleeves and completed 97 service projects across northwest Louisiana for the 2009 Day of Caring!
