Thomas H. J. Cook
Born and raised in Shreveport, Thomas returned home and joined CYKG in August of 2017 following five years of insurance defense work in South Louisiana. Thomas focuses his practice on general litigation, trucking/transportation defense, automobile defense, and coverage defense.
Thomas is a 2003 graduate of C.E. Byrd High School and a 2008 alumnus of Louisiana State University where he graduated with a B.S. from the College of Agriculture. He obtained his law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2011 where he was a member of the Maritime Law Society and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Prior to joining CYKG, Thomas served as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judge James J. Best of the 18th Judicial District Court in New Roads, Louisiana. Following his clerkship, he practiced trucking defense and worker’s compensation defense in the New Orleans area.
Thomas is admitted to practice law in all Louisiana state and federal courts. He is a member of Louisiana State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Shreveport Bar Association and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel.
His civic activities include volunteer and competitor for the annual Hogs for the Cause Fundraiser and Barbecue Cookoff to end pediatric brain cancer and member of the C. E. Byrd Alumni Association.
