J. Ashby Davis

Mr. Davis primarily represents and advises clients in all stages of litigation in state and federal courts. The largest portion of his practice consists of representing local government entities in Louisiana, including sheriffs, municipalities, and police juries. He has handled cases involving use of force, arrests and detentions, jail medical care, property rights, and land use regulation. He also represents clients in a wide variety of commercial litigation, construction litigation, and personal injury litigation. He has handled cases involving business and contract disputes, construction defects, manufacturing defects, and 18-wheeler collisions.

Mr. Davis also advises companies and individuals in non-litigation matters.  In particular, he assists clients with estate planning, successions, formation of LLC’s and other business and non-profit entities, real estate transactions, and contract drafting. 

A native of Bossier City, Mr. Davis received his Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Baylor University in 2012. He received his law degree, cum laude, from Baylor University School of Law in 2016, where he was a member of the Order of Barristers and completed the Estate Planning Concentration. After law school, he returned home to serve as a law clerk for the Honorable S. Maurice Hicks, Jr., United States District Judge for the Western District of Louisiana, Shreveport Division (2016-2017), before joining the firm. He is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Texas. Outside of the practice of law, he currently serves on the Volunteers of America Visionaries Committee and the Board of Directors of Literacy Volunteers at Centenary College, and previously served as the Treasurer of the Shreveport Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Section from 2017 to 2020.
