Brad Wilkerson advises and represents clients in oil and gas and energy law, commercial transactions, regulatory matters, and litigation.  A native of Northwest Louisiana, Mr. Wilkerson has extensive experience in all aspects of Louisiana mineral law, and has represented operators, non-operators, pipeline companies, mineral owners, and lending institutions in the Haynesville Shale since its inception, as well as other formations throughout the state.  His practice includes M&A, due diligence, preparation of title opinions, and the creation of drilling units through the Louisiana Office of Conservation.  He routinely negotiates and drafts corporate documents, purchase and sale agreements, participation agreements, operating agreements, gathering agreements, mineral leases, surface agreements, and seismic and software licenses.  Mr. Wilkerson also advises and represents clients in disputes and litigation involving lease rights, royalty and overriding royalty claims, production in paying quantities, unleased owners, further development, mineral servitudes, unitization and pooling, joint interest billing, Risk Fee Act, water use, and environmental matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Wilkerson spent four years as in-house counsel in Houston with one of the largest natural gas producers in the Haynesville Shale.  During his tenure he routinely advised the executive team and all departments on legal matters, including risk analysis, acquisitions and divestitures, corporate financing, litigation, and contract negotiation.  Mr. Wilkerson also assisted the company with the implementation of its drilling program and the creation of systems to streamline ongoing operations. 

Mr. Wilkerson served for two years as a board member of the Energy Section of The Woodlands Bar Association.  He also served for three years as a member of the Legislation Committee of the Louisiana Bar Association.  Mr. Wilkerson was a member of the 2014 Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program, and was recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in years 2013-2015.

Mr. Wilkerson practiced law in Northwest Louisiana for over ten years prior to moving to Houston to become in-house counsel.  He received his Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law degrees from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he had the honor of serving as the Corporations Law clerk to Professor Wendell Holmes.  Mr. Wilkerson also holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana.  He is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Texas.
