Mr. Homza tries cases and since 1980 has tried numerous jury trials and judgement cases in both state and federal courts throughout the state of Louisiana. While he enjoys trying court cases, he recognizes the ability and willingness to take the case to trial as the only way to achieve favorable settlements.  He received his law degree in 1979 from Louisiana State University. While in law school, he was selected to participate on the Moot Court Board and in the National Moot Court competition.  From 1979 to 1980 he served as a law clerk with the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeal and joined the firm in 1980. He was named The Best Lawyers in America® from 2011-2019 for Insurance Law and in 2017 was named attorney of the year for product liability defense. He is listed by SuperLawyers as having attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement in the area of Insurance Coverage. HIs trial practice involves defense of professional liability cases, including medical professionals, insurance brokers, legal, medical malpractice, complex catastrophic property damage. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and since 2001 has served on the subcommittee on Fire & Casualty Claims. He has been accepted into memberships of defense organizations, including Loss Executive Association,Trucking Industry Defense Association,Property Loss Research Bureau, Certified Insurance Fraud Examiners, and the Harry V. Booth and Judge Henry A. Politz America Inn of Court. Mr. Homza was invited to be a member of the Loss Executives Association and the International Association of Defense Counsel.  Mr. Homza is also engaged in the practice of mediations and performs mediation services as a member of Perry, Dampf, and Associates, A Professional Mediation and Arbitration Company.  Mr. Homza is a member of the Shreveport Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the North Louisiana Federal Bar Association.  He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, for whom he has been a lecturer on First Party Arson Defense Claims.  He is a two time instructor for the Louisiana Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms Chapter on investigation of fire & explosions.  Mr. Homza is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
