Luke D. Whetstone

Mr. Whetstone represents and advises corporate clients, including energy and transportation companies, on a diverse range of matters. His litigation experience includes jury and bench trials, as well as injunction hearings and administrative proceedings. He represents clients in court on a wide variety of issues, including casualty and tort liability, labor and employment matters, and contract disputes.
Mr. Whetstone also advises clients on their company policies and their compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Primarily, Mr. Whetstone focuses on zoning, tax, and labor regulations. He assists his clients in the drafting of their policies and agreements, advises them on interactions with the proper government entities, and represents his clients in any related litigation.
Mr. Whetstone is an active member of the bar and has served in various roles, including as President of the Shreveport Bar Association – Young Lawyers Section and as a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel – Young Lawyers Committee. He has also been selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers. In addition to his practice, he writes for the Louisiana Bar Journal and gives presentations on legal issues at UTSA, Centenary College, and Louisiana State University Shreveport.
Mr. Whetstone received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University, where he was selected for the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He then received his law degree from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where he was selected to the Moot Court Board. He was admitted to practice in Louisiana in 2016 and in Arkansas in 2019. He joined the firm in 2018.
