Luke D. Whetstone


Mr. Whetstone represents and advises clients in various areas of litigation.  His litigation experience includes jury and bench trials, as well as preliminary injunction hearings and administrative proceedings.  He has handled litigation concerning a wide variety of issues, including commercial carrier liability, labor and employment disputes, healthcare provider liability/medical malpractice, and business disputes.  Additionally, Luke has represented companies in administrative proceedings involving the assessment of sales and use tax on property utilized in interstate commerce, including aircraft. 

Mr. Whetstone also advises companies on their day-to-day employee management and policies as well as compliance with state and federal regulations.  In particular, Luke has assisted companies in complying with Department of Labor regulations related to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Luke also advises and represents clients in matters dealing with cyber security and data breaches.

 Mr. Whetstone received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University, where he was selected for the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.  He received his law degree from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where he was selected to the Moot Court Board.  He is an active member of the bar and has served in various capacities, including President of the Shreveport Bar Association – Young Lawyers Section.  Luke was admitted to practice in Louisiana in 2016 and in Arkansas in 2019 and has been selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers – Louisiana.  He joined the firm in 2018.  In addition to his practice, Luke has written for the Louisiana Bar Journal, as well as local publications, and has given presentations on various legal topics at Centenary College, Louisiana State University Shreveport, and Bossier Parish Community College.   His e-mail address is
