Michael C. Schimpf is a civil litigator and transactional attorney who represents individuals and businesses in a broad range of commercial, corporate, and personal matters, including business transactions, general litigation, and oil, gas, and pipeline issues. He brings analytical rigor and strategic creativity to every matter, developing persuasive arguments and practical solutions for complex and novel legal issues. Michael has experience in both trial and appellate matters and applies the same disciplined approach to transactional matters.

A Shreveport native, Michael graduated summa cum laude from Centenary College of Louisiana in 2017, where he was a four-year baseball letterman, earned Academic and Athletic All-American honors, and had a history paper published in North Louisiana History, titled “Shreveport’s Sunbelt Symbol: The Creation of Fair Grounds Field.”

He received his Juris Doctor and Diploma in the Comparative Law from the Paul M. Herbert Law Center of Louisiana State University in 2020, graduating magna cum laude and earning induction into the Order of the Coif. During law school, he served on the Louisiana Law Review where a student comment of his was published.

After law school, Michael served as a law clerk to the Honorable Elizabeth E. Foote, United States District Judge for the Western District of Louisiana. He then joined the Energy Group at Liskow & Lewis in New Orleans, gaining experience in commercial and energy-related litigation and transactions before returning to Shreveport to join the firm in 2025.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
